It is now a widely accepted fact that humans have had more influence on our environment than any other creature. The consequences have been devastating. The challenges ahead: overwhelmingly complex.
In December 2009, the world’s nations will join forces at the UN Climate Change Convention in Copenhagen, Denmark to define a new global climate treaty.
But climate change is not just a matter for politicians and economists—it is something that affects us all and thus it demands each and every one of us to contribute to its solutions.
We believe culture can play a major role in the climate challenge, by stimulating debates and applying the rich language of art to inspire and empower ordinary people to take action.
We have put much energy and thought into a new initiative IMPACT: living in the age of climate change that brings together art, technology, science, politics and climate, with provocative and insightful perspectives from the far North and South regions of our planet.
In the lead up to the UN convention, we will be launching a series of programs starting with web-debates on this site, and culminating with a major international media show touring the Nordic Countries.
Visit again, the IMPACT online forum goes live next month!
